madbrain 0 Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I just bought an HD HomeRun connect 4K, and set it up with Emby. After I stop watching an ATSC 3.0 channel (KPIX 105.1), the tuner remains locked by Emby server to that channel . Task manager network tab shows that data is being streamed from the HD Homerun to emby server, at a rate of about 4 Mbit/s. Questions : 1) is this a known bug ? 2) is there any work around ? 3) I assume restarting Emby server would do release the tuner, but I don't see a way to do that. What's the official way, short of rebooting ? I didn't see Emby in the list of Windows services. The HDHomerun has only 2 ATSC 3.0 tuners, so a leak of 1 tuner is really problematic, especially if one is using multiple applications with the tuner (as is the case for me).
Luke 42083 Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Hi there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks.

Luke, Specific example : I setup Emby client on my Galaxy S22 Ultra. I watched channel 105.1 (KPIX) ATSC 3.0 from my Emby server which is connected to the HD Homerun. I stopped watching TV on the phone after a few minutes. It's now the following day, and the HD homerun home page shows : And if I click on tuner 0 : 192.168.100.144 is the static IP of my Emby server (Windows system).
madbrain 0 Posted April 28, 2023 Author Posted April 28, 2023 Also, here is what task manager shows on that Emby server - approximately 4 Mbps of download throughput. It's been streaming from the HD Homerun all night, even though there is no Emby client watching TV at the moment.
madbrain 0 Posted April 28, 2023 Author Posted April 28, 2023 Restarting the Emby server from the admin UI caused the system bandwidth to go to zero, and freed the tuner on the HD Homerun admin side. I tried reproducing the problem, but this time the tuner didn't leak - it was freed as soon as I exited from the Emby app on my phone. Odd. And unfortunately random bugs like this are the hardest ones to fix...

Luke 42083 Posted May 22, 2023 Posted May 22, 2023 @madbrainplease attach the emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks.
