SMB support from libraries in docker container?

I'm testing moving my Emby server to one container instance. Right now I'm testing with TrueNAS Scale, though I believe my issue is universal for Linux.

I have all my media located (for now) on a Synology NAS. My problem now is how to access my SMB share from my container. I've tried including the username/password in the path in the library section, but that doesn't work. The syntax I tried was;
smb://Username:Password@server/Path and
Username:Password@server/Path

I don't think I can create a mounting point in TrueNAS to a remote SMB share. Any thoughts on how this issue could be solved?

Going forward I will probably have one dedicated server for data (NAS) and one for applications (K8s), so I'd like to solve this problem going forward.

Thanks Luke. I'll test that. I looked a bit into some options, but it looked like there were some limitations with SMB version (1.0 only, which is not happening 🤣) and some other reliability thing that had to be disabled, but I'll look a bit more into it next week. Thanks.

Though it would be awesome if it was possible to do from the Library setup in Emby, but I realize there might be some technical barriers for doing that.

It is possible but I would still suggest the mounting approach anyway.
