Playback issue with H265

Hello,

I've noticed that my LG TV app can't play smoothly some media with h265 codec , even when direct play (example below) . sound and subtitles are OK, but video is laggy.

when playing h264 , no such problems

Is it just this episode/series or do you have this problem with lots of H265 files?

It’s possible that there’s an issue with the encoding if other files play fine.

The last two episodes of this TV show have the same behavior / codec.

I've just tested playing on web client instead.... and it is not smooth neither... I have some mosaic effects every few seconds....

maybe it s the encoding of the release... I'll check that

The issue is.present since the release of version x.37. Sadly we are waiting for an update since december last year to fix the issue.

What issue are you referring to?

My LG app is still unable to play this codec many  image freezes.

playback is OK on my PC (web player), so it sould not be on the server side.

is there a future update of LG app who could fix that?

Please also post logs of an example playback (server and ffmpeg logs)

Could you post the full mediainfo including all audio and subtitle streams?

Is it just this file having an issue or are you having trouble with many/all files?

This is the rest of mediainfo.

this issue with all the episodes of this specific release... I suppose it is the way they are encoded.

I have other h265 files that play well

Yes, if they are all from the same release then I would say you are right in that the issue is the way they are encoded.  I can't see anything in the media info that should cause a problem.

Try using MkvToolnix and copy all the streams to a new mkv file.  It will be a quick stream copy and won't affect the quality, but rewriting the container might resolve the issue.

No effect....It looks like an incompability of the LG player with this specific codec....

EDIT: I've tested other players:

- windows Chrome web player: KO => mosaic effect

- windows emby theatre: OK

- Linux Chrome web player: OK
