alel3001 4 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 I my router and firewall should be allowing the connection, and I can access the internet on my server. I get an error that states: There was an error performing the requested operation. Your server is unable to contact our Emby Connect Server at https://connect.emby.media. Please ensure your server has an active internet connection and that the communications are being allowed by any firewall or security software you have installed. Luke 42077 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 HI, well that's strange. Can you try it again? Are you using a vpn?
alel3001 4 Posted April 25, 2023 Author Posted April 25, 2023 I just tried it again. Same issue. I am using a reverse proxy, but I don't think it was an issue before. I've added emby connect users before
Luke 42077 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Typical causes of this are going to be something blocking the connection such as firewall, security software, or VPN. Can you look into those?
alel3001 4 Posted April 25, 2023 Author Posted April 25, 2023 I've looked. I don't have a vpn on my server, although I do on my personal, the router is blocking anything, and i don't have security software set up to block emby. Just looking for other ideas.
alel3001 4 Posted May 1, 2023 Author Posted May 1, 2023 Is there any other way to associate a user with an emby connect account? I've checked all my security settings and I think i have full internet access since i can connect remotely. It's just the emby connect that doesn't seem to be working.
Luke 42077 Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Hi, that’s the only way. Are you still running into this? Can you try it again?
alel3001 4 Posted June 14, 2023 Author Posted June 14, 2023 Yes I am running into this issue. I think there is something on my server that is blocking some connections because I suspect I am having trouble finding subtitles as well occasionally. When I use the curl -is https://emby.media/connect.html, I get a proper response and adding a user after that sometimes works after some tries.
Luke 42077 Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 They could be connected, yes, although subtitle requests won’t be going through our Emby domain. That will usually be opensubtitles. But the problem could be the same for both.
