I my router and firewall should be allowing the connection, and I can access the internet on my server. I get an error that states:

There was an error performing the requested operation. Your server is unable to contact our Emby Connect Server at https://connect.emby.media. Please ensure your server has an active internet connection and that the communications are being allowed by any firewall or security software you have installed.

HI, well that's strange. Can you try it again? Are you using a vpn?

Posted

I just tried it again. Same issue. I am using a reverse proxy, but I don't think it was an issue before. I've added emby connect users before

Typical causes of this are going to be something blocking the connection such as firewall, security software, or VPN. Can you look into those?

Posted

I've looked. I don't have a vpn on my server, although I do on my personal, the router is blocking anything, and i don't have security software set up to block emby. Just looking for other ideas.

Is there any other way to associate a user with an emby connect account? I've checked all my security settings and I think i have full internet access since i can connect remotely. It's just the emby connect that doesn't seem to be working.

Hi, that’s the only way. Are you still running into this? Can you try it again?

Yes I am running into this issue. I think there is something on my server that is blocking some connections because I suspect I am having trouble finding subtitles as well occasionally. When I use the curl -is https://emby.media/connect.html, I get a proper response and adding a user after that sometimes works after some tries.

They could be connected, yes, although subtitle requests won’t be going through our Emby domain. That will usually be opensubtitles. But the problem could be the same for both.
