MiamiBulldog 0 Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 So I've been trying to fix my static ip and port forwarding so I can get Plex and Emby working, I did something wrong last night and now when i click emby in the taskbar it's bringing up Plex, I think I assigned Emby under network to Plex? Any idea how to change this aside from uninstalling or is that the only way? I want to run both as I keep having issues with Plex remote access so I want to have a backup server

Luke 42083 Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Hi, why exactly do you think it's bringing up plex? Can you please show screenshot examples? Thanks.
MiamiBulldog 0 Posted April 19, 2023 Author Posted April 19, 2023 it's literally bringing it up, i tried to change the network to the same port as plex i believe? I don't know how to reconfigure considering it won't let me open emby to confiugure  https://imgur.com/a/EBubb7C
MiamiBulldog 0 Posted April 19, 2023 Author Posted April 19, 2023 I also have tried to close and reopen Emby and restart Pc
MiamiBulldog 0 Posted April 19, 2023 Author Posted April 19, 2023 I did it trying to get Emby remote working because I couldn't find the server on my phone or tv, so I was messing around with port forwarding and static ip...unfortunately I don't know enough and nobody replied yet on reddit lol

Luke 42083 Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 What happens if you just enter http://localhost:8096Â in the browser?

Luke 42083 Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 Ok rather than 8096, what if you enter http://localhost:embyport where embyport is the port that is configured in server settings. My guess is you configured it to use the same port as plex. Try shutting down Plex, leave it shut down, and then restart emby server.
MiamiBulldog 0 Posted April 20, 2023 Author Posted April 20, 2023 this is the page I get when i type that in the browser..it redirects me to googleÂ

Sweet! yep that worked...Shutting down plex and then opening it...so now that I have it open what should I change the network info to? please
MiamiBulldog 0 Posted April 20, 2023 Author Posted April 20, 2023 it seems like It's only letting me run one or the other...how can i change it so I can run both?Â

So you could try changing the emby server port back to the default of 8096, or something else that isn't already being used by another application.
MiamiBulldog 0 Posted April 20, 2023 Author Posted April 20, 2023 ok thanks...I keep getting a connection failure when trying to connect remote now that I changed the port back to 8096
