Emby is running in a Hyper-V virtual and noticed on the host a lot of disk activity around the Transcoding\transcoding-temp\blablablabla.ts

I see no activity in the admin web gui and nothing is running right now.  No web clients, no Android clients.  Any thoughts?

Honestly when content is playing it's rare it transcodes then either so confused.  Also any shows Emby recorded ended a couple hours ago.

Note I checked the logs, which the only ones listed are the embyserver.txt logs.  There is no reference in that file to the ts filename it's showing transcoding in the resource monitor of Windows.

I don't have a playback issue. :)  Well I may have other issues but this one isn't a playback one.  So in the Resource Monitor second most active activity going on.  Again no one is using Emby

Attached are the logs but do not see a reference to this file in there.

Nothing for that stream in this log.  But can only guess a recording.  As there is similar in this log with a different id number that was deleted (2023-04-14 13:04:59.894).

Yeah I dont get it.  Nothing recording, nothing using Emby.

I can see that same file is still chugging away right now days later.  Everyone is sleeping, I'm on YouTube, and the only shows I record are 11:30AM - 1:00PM weekdays.

Note maybe because it's technically a network share but do not see the same activity on the Emby virtual.  So..

In Emby the Tanscoding path is: \\hyperv\e$\Emby\Transcoding

Which hyperv is the name of the HyperV Host.  Probably obvious.

I see the above file being written to when looking at the performance monitor on the Hyper-V host.  On the Emby virtual itself, just see activity on the C drive though as mentioned technically that's a UNC path so probably wouldn't show up on the Emby server itself maybe.

If I lookup network activity on the Emby server IP address there is a "System" entry pointing to the hyperv host and a tick of send/receive info.

Under TCP Connections there are a bunch of 445 port connections to the hyperv host as well.  Has a bunch of 497XX local port entries.

Do you have the log file from when that first started?

No, don't really monitor the task manager on my Hyper-V server all day.  Just happened to find this at one point.

File is growing to.  Just noticed it 676 gigs

Sounds like a run away Live TV process but will be impossible to know anything without the log for the process.

Does restarting Emby kills this process?

Looks like it.  I stopped Emby, delete the file, which wouldn't delete and had to use a separate program that would delete it on reboot and now don't see it.
