JunyourMynt 0 Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 I could not find this issue in the community, but I may have missed something. I have recently changed my router. I can still connect remotely with every device I had previously connected. The new devices, ie my phone, will not connect remotely. I have tried bypassing the vpn, turning it off, and uninstalling it. I have disabled the firewall on the computer and the router. The weird thing is the remote ip keeps changing, but those previously connected devices stay connected. When I set a permanent address nothing can connect, but as soon as I go back to auto the previously connected devices connect remotely. I did do the port forwarding correctly. Now I am banging my head against the wall. Any advice would be helpful.

How are you connecting?
JunyourMynt 0 Posted April 14, 2023 Author Posted April 14, 2023 I'm connected with emby connect on the older devices and have tried both ways with my phone and my laptop (which has never been connected). I prefer connect.

JunyourMynt 0 Posted April 14, 2023 Author Posted April 14, 2023 That was a mis speak. I set the port forward with the hosts ip, and tried enabling auto Port mapping.
pwhodges 2012 Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 If the automated port-mapping makes it work, then to keep that turned off you need to set up port mapping manually (in the router dashboard). If you think you've done that, then it's not been done right... Paul
JunyourMynt 0 Posted April 14, 2023 Author Posted April 14, 2023 Pwhodges the problem with Port forwarding is that it didn't change the problem. I have six devices, all connected through emby connect, they work remotely as they always have. I bought a new phone and it will not connect. I have tried with my laptop and a work tablet and neither connect. I only mentioned the pretty forwarding, vpn, and firewalls as things I have already taken into consideration while trying to get this to work. I appreciate your help. Where as I am no IT consultant, I have spent a numberb of years working on networks and communications systems. I can assure you based off my experiences with just xbox gaming that my port mapping was solid. I just cannot figure out what obstacle I am missing here.
GrimReaper 4749 Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 (edited) Do you have any Device Access restrictions set for your user (Settings>Users tab>edit desired user>Access tab, scroll all the way down)? Edited April 15, 2023 by GrimReaper Screenshot
