Manually creating/editing metadata

I've looked for this but can't seem to locate the answer I'm wanting.  I am trying to find where in the NFO files, assuming it exists, that information is contained telling Emby about how many seasons a show has, how many episodes and title of those episodes each season has, etc.  The reason I'm looking for this is because I have a hand full of shows that don't scrape the way that I'd like so I'd like to change the aforementioned, and I have other shows that I don't care to watch past some season X but I don't want Emby to see this as missing seasons/episodes.

No such NFO exists.

That was extremely helpful...

Don't know of other way to answer your query. There's <episodeguide> tag in tvshow.nfo, but that's external link downloading show zip, not something you can "tell" Emby to.

Exact example?

Missing/Upcoming episodes are queried (and requeried from providers), you cannot partially/selectively choose to which shows you want it applicable, it's either show Missing for all or none.

He's right though. That data does not exist in the series nfo file.

Best example of a show I'd like to change is the Rocky and Bullwinkle show.  I'm just making up numbers here, but for one 30 minute show, the editors on TVDB list 5-8 different episodes as they like to look at each segment as it's on episode.

As for chopping off seasons, anyone that knows anything about TV history is familiar with "jumping the shark".  There's quite a few shows that just aren't worth having past a certain season.

Any metadata for an item can come from either of two ways only: obtained from providers or entered/provided manually. If no provider lists those episodes as you'd like them to, you'd have to enter metadata/provide NFO for each episode separately yourself (in the supported format) for your perceived 'episodes', there's no provision to do that automatically in one swoop for all episodes.

That said, for that particular TV show, TMDB lists them as 30-mins episodes, which is likely what you're after. Put TMDB as your top preferred library meta-provider, re-Identify series, lock the item afterwards, revert TVDB on top.

I have found the solution!!!  Grim Reaper's idea about changing the scraper will hopefully fix half of the problem, but I've not tried that part yet.  However, to fix missing seasons/episodes from show's you'll never be able to complete (like Dr. Who as an example), after you're happy with what you've got, go into the series, edit the series metadata, lock it, and then rescan.  Presto, change-o, you no longer show missing episodes/seasons that you need to hunt for.

I assume you're aware that that applies to any future metadata change with the providers (as sometimes/often items data change retroactively), not only Missing, your installation will not be able to reflect those changes either?

Well, I did mention, "once you're happy with it".  And with a show like Dr. Who, just as the example here, if the missing episodes haven't been found by now, they likely never will be.  Not much else could change with it.  I'm not saying it's not possible, just highly unlikely.  Plus, it's easy enough, if one desires, to go unlock it for a scan and then relock once done.
