HawkXP71 112 Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 I have found that the "green" hardware transcoding on the local chrome client, isnt active when the audio codec AAC 5.1 but is when its EAC3 5.1 The AAC 5.1 is coming through via direct play, but the EAC35.1 needs an audio transcode. Watching my task manager, the GPU is definitely in use for both... Im not overly worried about it, but just wondering if its intentional? or something is a foot A
Luke 42080 Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Hi, that icon is only shown for hardware video transcoding.

Luke 42080 Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Well you can see in the second screenshot recovering from playback error, so that is one reason why video would transcode. Another is that sometimes when the audio has to be converted, it will become necessary to convert the video as well.
GrimReaper 4740 Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 (edited) Don't know for any browser save MS Edge playing (E)AC3 natively. Edited April 6, 2023 by GrimReaper 1 1
