NewYears1978 3 Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 I was watching an old show (well older episodes of existing show) The Blacklist and started realizing stuff wasn't making sense, people dead that had not died, Etc. Then I found that all the episodes are int he wrong order. The files are named properly SXXEXX and they even have the right numbering in the list 1. XX 2. XX 3. XX etc..but are listed in a weird order ei 1, 2, 4, 8, 22, 3. How can I fix this?
pwhodges 2012 Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 (edited) I have just found a series like this (the display order is: unnumbered specials, 18, 1, 8, 2, 24, 9, 11, 25, 22, 17, 21, 4, 7, 19, 13, 10, 5, 6, 23, 12, 16, 26, 15, 3, 14, 20, movies). I removed the series and then added it again - but now the series doesn't show at all. I am investigating further... Paul EDIT - it had named the series after a podcast about the series (!), but otherwise had scanned it correctly (except that the episode titles were in Italian), and put it back in the correct order. The problem is that yet again TVDB returns a crazy order, and Emby fails to check for an exact match: Edited April 5, 2023 by pwhodges
NewYears1978 3 Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 Weird..yeah mine are normal episodes named normally - nothing out of the ordinary. The file names are named correctly sXXeXX and in Emby they even have the right number in front of them like 1. XXXX 2. XXXX but they are in the wrong order.
NewYears1978 3 Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 Also, every season for this show is like this. No other of my shows are like this. So weird
Happy2Play 9783 Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 It will probably be impossible to say, but will guess you will need to remove, do full scan and readd Show or at least items in wrong order. As that resolved this issue in another topic.
pwhodges 2012 Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 And that fixed it for me in this one (the poor recognition of a show that has always been recognised correctly in the past is a separate matter). Why/how it got out of order is a mystery, though. Paul
Happy2Play 9783 Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Just now, pwhodges said: Why/how it got out of order is a mystery, though. Not sure entirely as it normally comes from SortTtile but episodes are slightly different using season/episode numbers. But suggest something within the database. 1
NewYears1978 3 Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 How do you remove it without deleting the files, doesn't removing a series remove the media files too?

Move the tvshow directory out of the library directory, do a scan, after it finishes add the tvshow directory to the library directory again, do another scan.

You move the files on your filesystem out of existing folder, scan, them move them back. But directly to your question there is no Remove items from a library option in Emby only DELETE and yes that deletes them from the filesystem.
NewYears1978 3 Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 Ah okay I will try this. I realized it was only 3 of the 10 seaons that were whacked out, weird since all the file names, nfo files, metadata etc etc are all corrrect. So odd. Thanks, I'll report back. 1
