Hi,
I really appreciated the feature where you can completely clone a default user to a new user.
It happens, however, that I noticed some failures in the sense that the cloning was not total. Some resources are not cloned.
Is this something that is scheduled for correction?
If necessary I can send pictures and details of each uncloned item.
Thanks in advance for your attention.

There should be only a issue with last user not appearing on the list to copy but but resolved in beta.

Please give specific examples.

Okay, I'll be adding details as I go along, so the first one...
The cloned user has the home screen order as per the picture, but when cloning, the order is not considered.

Also, the default screen is not cloned for two items: live tv and music

What do you mean by order not considered?

Look.
The cloned user order in the sections on the homepage is:
- Continue watching
- My Media
- Live Tv
- Recent media

When cloning for the new user, the system did not consider this order and created it like this:
- My Media
- Continue watching
- Recent media

Looks like Home Screen Sections order is not copied here.

Library orders are maintained just not assigned sections order.

Cloned user is reset.

Got it, exactly what happens here.
So this is not considered a bug, the system was written to behave anyway?!
In this case, we cannot say that there is total cloning of the selected user, but only partial.
Is this something that is scheduled to happen? The exact cloning of the selected user, with all characteristics of the original user?
Thanks

But these are not part of the config or policy xmls that are be cloned so I can sort of see why.

I understood.
What I believed is that when cloning a user, the new user would be a faithful copy, even if the original user has changes in orders from the original system.
So when cloning, we must know that not everything is taken from the source user but only part of things as they are.
This is just so we know that cloning is not a mirror of the origin.
Still, it's a great feature that cuts down on the work of registering a new user.

Dev will have to confirm but your wanting to clone display settings/displaypreferences also as they are different then user configs.

Exactly.
See, if it's a clone, I understand it's a copy, a mirror, and the only thing that would really be different is the password and nothing else.
All changes made by the source user 'should' be carried over to the target user. I think the term 'clone' makes more sense.

They are technically not the same even though they apply to the user.

So yes that would be beyond the current copy config/policy xml files.

I'm hoping that in fact the clone is a faithful copy, but if this has a technical impediment I'll continue adjusting the clone manually. Thanks

As other settings reside I believe in the displayprefrences database not user xml files it is not a simple clone process.  But that would be for the devs to explain.

Hi, it's true that not all settings are copied at this stage, but we're going to keep on improving it over time so that it will include as much as possible. Thanks.

+1 to this. felt very disappointed when i saw the order is not how I wanted my parents and friends to see it. Hope the order will also be included in the clone process.
