crusher11 1101 Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 At present, because Emby is dumb, tags and collections are only applied to whatever the default NFO is when you edit it. Is there a way - plugin, script, NFO find-and-replace hackery, anything at all - to merge this information so that each tag/collection present in any version is present in all versions?
GrimReaper 4742 Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 I sorta remeber an old topic about tagging - and issues faced with multi-version items due to db structure. Will need a minute to find it. Here (long read, though). Maybe @chefor @rbjtechmight remember more about particular issues encountered and/or why the idea was eventually abandoned.
roaku 842 Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 I copy the relevant parts from the 'main' nfo file into the nfos for the other versions, but I also don't need to do it very often. I'm not sure if there's a more convenient workaround.
rbjtech 5284 Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 Plenty of ways to do it - as you have already identified - NFO, API etc - but a short answer to your question is no, there is no automated process to do it out the box without scripting.
crusher11 1101 Posted April 4, 2023 Author Posted April 4, 2023 I know nothing about scripting, I don't suppose anyone has written anything up that will do this?
