hawk223 9 Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 I've been running conversion to HVEC to save space and thus not need more. When this happens sometimes images disappear for library items and I have to manually fix them. I'm running Emby on docker on Ubuntu. I looked in the directory of a couple movies. All files images and nfos have been removed. One was only a single file. The other had all the subtitles removed to individual files. Deleting the unwanted subtitles triggered Emby to download images. A fix for this would be great. embyserver-63815817600.txt embyserver-63815904000.txt embyserver.txt
Luke 42078 Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Hi there, can you please provide a specific example? Thanks.
hawk223 9 Posted April 2, 2023 Author Posted April 2, 2023 I've already fixed Your Place or mine but it was an issue. On Roku Law and Order special victims unit has no image but on the web browser it's fine.
Luke 42078 Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Do you still think "Images Disappearing on Conversion" ?
hawk223 9 Posted April 2, 2023 Author Posted April 2, 2023 Seemingly random posters have been disappearing like this ever since I converted from windows to docker on Linux. At first I had no idea why. Thought it was because I forgot to shutdown Emby before shutting down docker. But I've noticed that when I change a movie file manually all the supporting files disappear. Such as nfo, subs, images etc. I wish it left these alone. So I'm assuming this is what's happening when Emby places the converted file in the directory as I've set it to replace. Although I don't know why images are not displaying for law and order svu as the images are in the directory just don't display on roku. It may also have something to do with running out of hard drive space on the docker config side not the data side. I've increased it so will see what happens.
Luke 42078 Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Can you please go over a specific example? Emby does not delete those supporting files unless you use the delete feature.
hawk223 9 Posted April 8, 2023 Author Posted April 8, 2023 (edited) Well I distinctly remember replacing a movie file because there was something wrong with it. All the supporting files were automagically deleted including the custom forced subtitle file I made to only show the alien language and not my native tongue. Luckily I had uploaded the file to open subtitles so just had to download it again. Anyways I have two TV shows and a movie without posters at this time. Junkyard Wars and The White Lotus. Both used to work and still have the poster.jpg file and I can open it and see the image. These don't work across all platforms. The New Operation Forune Ruse de Guerre is also missing all artwork. No files in the directory. Only file in the directory besides the movie file is the bif file. Odd there is no nfo or poster etc. I disabled the movie trailers because they almost always were missing images. PS I usually fix these by redownloading metadata and forcing to redownload images or just manually download the images. But I will wait to see if there is a better solution. Luke 42078 Posted April 8, 2023 Posted April 8, 2023 Can you get it to happen again with another title?
Luke 42078 Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 OK please capture the emby server log when this happens again. Thanks.
hawk223 9 Posted April 9, 2023 Author Posted April 9, 2023 Will do. One thing I notice on the two that disappeared was that if I went into edit images it showed blank grey for the image however it did show a resolution. 1
