recording padding enforcement

I have observed some strange behavior related to padding. One of my series battlebots, I have the padding set to record 60 minutes after. I was watching the server tonight, there was two programs on discovery back to back for battlebots.  When the 1st program ended, I thought based on the above comments, that it would only tie up one tuner. But it didn't it tied up two tuners until the 60 minute padding timed out on the 1st program. 

Then the second program ignored the padding and stopped promptly at the end time. Or so I thought, it did not show in the dashboard or in the recordings tab of live tv. But it continued to tie up a tuner for the 60minute padding.

 

If this is normal I would like to add the option of ignoring post recording padding when two programs are back to back on the same channel for the overlapping time.
