Actor Thumbnails Not Showing Up (is this a different problem?)

I have searched the forum and I'm not sure if this is the same issue or different from what other users are experiencing...
I moved the location of where I store my movies and added that location to my sources and re-scraped/added them all back. But now 80%-ish of my actor thumbnails are missing. If I click on the actor's generic icon it takes me to their profile and the image is there and shows correctly. If I then back out of there and back out of the movie and then click on the movie again the actor thumbnail shows correctly. So is this the same database issue as others or is this different? If so is there a way to update all the actor's thumbs at once? 

More info: This happens with all my clients Roku, Shield TV, and Web browsers. Emby server is running on an Unraid server on my local network.

Hi, try refreshing the metadata on the movie or series that the actor belongs to and see if that helps. Thanks.

Hard to picture the issue here.

Have you run the Metadata folder scan?

I had the same exact issue as OP described. And yes, refresh metadata should fix it mostly.

On larger-sized libraries, Its a shame to hammer the MD providers for info Emby already owns.

Emby is not really missing 80% of its actor's tb. It appears to be a broken link issue. Same link that is re-established by simply going in/out of actor profile page.

When in a movie page, the Cast & Crew section shows mostly generic tiles.

Clicking on one of those generic icons brings up the actor profile, and the actor Primary image is unexpectedly present.

Using back button brings us back to movie page. At this point, the dead link is already fixed, we just don't see it yet.

F5 the page or browsing one folder level up, then back down to movie page now display's the actor pic instead of generic tile.

I tried refresh on a few movies which appeared to fix it, so I ran refresh on the entire movie library (which took a few hours) and it fixed approximately 96-99% of the actor thumbs. For anyone looking to solve this same issue I did leave the checkbox UNCHECKED to replace existing artwork as I didn't want to lose all my customized posters. Thanks to all who replied!
