Chiefmas 40 Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 I ran into/inadvertently created an interesting problem for myself today... I'm moving a library to a new path, but my script in one case, it only moved the top level file movie file in the folder for the movie, it didn't move the subfolders, which included some extras(which met the naming conventions). This caused Emby to try and treat the extras folders, as movies. That's always fun, because if you actually have a "deleted scenes" extra, it gets nearest matched to a 2010 flick called "Deleted Scenes" which has a rather racy cover image. Anyway, I moved the extras folders manually, and re-scanned the library... And the incorrectly identified extras folders are still in Latest... hmm...how to get rid of them...Delete? Nope, fails because I've already moved the folders so it can't successfully delete...I finally just edit the meta data and set the release year to 1900, which does the trick. I figured they were still hanging about in the library, so I go look- nope...they are back under the correct movie as extras... So, it seems like the entries in "Latest Movies" are linked to the parent object, but the list isn't sync'd if the underlying object changes? i.e. in this case, what it had been incorrectly identified as a movie, that parent movie was removed, but the entry copied into the Latest remained. I guess I'm not quite sure what I'm asking at this point, just verifying that is the behavior; once an entry is inserted into the Latest list, it has a semi-independent existence, like a partial copy, so even if the origin title is removed, it will still exist? So the best way to remove it if the related object goes away is to just force the release date to make it fall off? As a mitigation to preventing this from happening again, could I insert some kind of dummy entry/null entry somewhere to prevent that from happening again? It happens every once in a while(and yes, probably my fault in some way when it does), but that nearest match that comes up for "deleted scenes" is one I'd like to prevent from happening in the future if I can. Thanks!
Solution Luke 42079 Posted March 23, 2023 Solution Posted March 23, 2023 Hi, it's best to look at the particulars of an exact example: How to Report a Problem Thanks.
Chiefmas 40 Posted March 23, 2023 Author Posted March 23, 2023 Ok, I'll either reproduce it on purpose or if I do it again on accident, I'll report it fully. Thanks! 1
