Release of what?  Stable Server or Beta?  Because that seems like something you could put in the beta easy and then we wouldn't have to wait months.

How do I add movie soundtracks to my Emby music library? Whenever I had a soundtrack folder Emby splits the songs based on the artist instead of leaving the sountrack album intact (Had the same problem with Plex)

Hi, you need to make "Album Artist" the same for all songs in an album. E.g. "Various Artists" or "Soundtrack". This is covered in Emby's basic documentation here:

I recommend using Various Artists in the Album Artist field (for a soundtrack album or "jukebox" compilation) unless the same artist did all of the songs.

On the individual songs, use a semi-colon to separate artist names.

John Travolta; Olivia Newton-John

Snoop Dogg; Dr. Dre; Eminem; 50 Cent

This will allow Emby (and lots of other music players) to recognize that there are several individual artists who contributed to that track, and that track will show up under each of their names, because each name will be treated separately. Whereas "John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John" will be treated as a single artist, and the track won't appear under either person's individual profiles. I even do this for "featured artists" - their names get moved to the Artist field and separated with a semi-colon.

If you put in songwriter tags, again, use semi-colons to separate the names, and they'll be treated as individual artists and will sort themselves properly. You may want to standardize on one name for an artist, so that they sort properly. For example:

Snoop Doggy Dogg

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Lion

Calvin Broadus

Calvin Broadus Jr.

Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.

Calvin "Snoop Dogg" Broadus

all refer to the same person. If you pick one variation and use it consistently across all tags when they appear, you'll get much better database results.

Emby, as a rule, pulls its metadata from your ID3 tags when the songs are first imported, and making changes afterwards can be a bit of a hassle, so the better your tags are before you move the songs into Emby, the better your results will be.

I'm a mobile DJ, so music management is a big deal to me, and I can probably answer any question you're likely to have.
