External subtitles not showing in Emby play

I have searched and tried many things to get the external subs I have working in emby and none of them are showing up. I attached a img with the current file structure / naming.

I have tried take out the (2022) in both the movie and subtitle name and had no change, tried 2 and 3 letter language codes, tried the ISO language - location code and tried title - language code, also tried creating a sub-folder titles subtitles and moving all subtitles to that. nothing will show up after renaming and library scanning. Not sure if I am missing something simple or if something about my set up is completely wrong?

Using web client, Server version 4.7.11.0

Everything looks correct per the documentation, this naming is working in plex and when I test JellyFin it worked there as well.

Let me know if there is more information needed to help understand the problem as well.

Rename video file or all subtitle files, as sub name must match video filename (or vice versa), i.e.

David....(2020) - 1080p.mp4

David....(2020).ara.srt

won't do.

Either:

David....(2020) - 1080p.mp4

David....(2020) - 1080p.ara.srt

or

David....(2020).mp4

David....(2020).ara.srt

will.

Thanks for the tip, Will try that. If I have something with say a 1080p and 4k version would I need to copy and rename all the subtitle files and have duplicates then?

So like

David.... (2020) - 4k.mp4

David....(2020) - 4k.ara.srt

David.... (2020) - 1080p.mp4

David....(2020) - 1080p.ara.srt

Just want to make sure, highly considering using Emby instead of plex at this point but subs is a big one, My roommate has pretty bad hearing and uses subs on everything we have.

Thank you for helping!

Yes, applicable to multi-version items as well.
