Guest chipk Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 I cannot for the life of me add a second server. Why is emby so difficult to get along with. It really is over complex to just setup sometimes. Drives me nuts. So on my old server for some reason all the users which include me are all cloud. Why is my user not the host, is that why I cannot add another server ? I enter the address of the new server and get Connection Failure We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again. I need to set this account to host im typing from as host, and add my new server to emby theatre, then add my friends as server users, I believe through emby connect right?

Where is your first server hosted, local machine or? 2. Where is second server hosted, same machine or? 3. Are they both active simultaneously? 4. Is that local or remote connection?

Both remote I believe I am not fully knowledgeable about all this, probably why I find it tricky at times. I think when I dLed emby theatre I added an account for myself and gave fully user access to folders. That is why I have the cloud icon like my friends in users. I should be host right. I really wanna make user chipk primary host and add a second remote server.

Cloud icon just denotes that you have (Optionally) linked Emby Connect account with your local user. You need to do that for every local user (on every) server separately. So you would login to your second server with local user credentials and link your user with same Connect account as you have on the first server.

So I think it worked, I know have 2 servers on my emby theatre screen. Would my second server using the local creds be emby prem also. Is there any way to have two accounts for emby premier without double paying ? Another issue is that I cannot add the folder to my FTP which is setup on my new server. It isnt showing the dir path to the fold I just DL a movie to

Note that device limit is cumulative - meaning that devices using Premiere features from both your servers will count against your Premiere limit (standard Premiere license carries a 25 devices limit).

I am trying to add a new server, I want to add my main account and then add my friends as emby connect accounts. If I click the ADD SERVER it asks for host and port but I am unsure what to add, the creds I believe are right give me a message "cannot connect, make sure server is running" I choose Sign in with emby connect and add my main details and I get that server EMBY, nothing happens when I click on it I want to add both my servers, how do I do it ? Generally this means the connection just can't get from app to server. So let's start with some basic info - are you inside the same local network as the server when trying to do this? What server address are you trying to use? Where did you get that address from?
Guest chipk Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Hi My server is in another country, it consists of 2 HDD which are separate from one another but are with the same company Emby is automatically install on both as an app, on my 4TB it connects with my Emby connect account chip and I am able to interact with it. I cannot seem to get understand why primechip doesnt have a cloud. What I understand is, can I have Primechip and chip as my main admin user, and add all my friends via emby connect to both of them ?

The Connect setting is made in the user setup on each server. You can connect the same Connect user with user accounts on both servers, and they will then be given the choice of server when they log in. Beyond that I really have no idea what specific scenario you are trying to achieve here. Paul

Paul It confuses me bcoz I dont know how to access both servers with the same Emby connect account chip, it just opens the 4TB server not the 8TB I dont understand why it is so difficult The new 8TB asks me to sign in, the other just opens automictically, I cannot get both servers to show in emby theatre either.
