creat-x 0 Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Bonjour, Ma configuration matérielle : Carte mère : AsRock IMB-1231 chipset Q670 Processeur : 12 th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900 Mémoire vive : 64 Go Disque système : SSD NVMe 512 Go Disque sauvegarde et transcodage : SSD NVMe 512 Go Système d’exploitation X64 : Debian 11 + OpenMediaVault 6 Version Emby server : 4.8.0.21 bêta https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.
GrimReaper 4739 Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Are you clicking "Save" at the page bottom after making changes?
creat-x 0 Posted March 21, 2023 Author Posted March 21, 2023 Yes, I had clicked "Save" before restarting the Emby server. I repeated the operation 4 times without success. The other parameters are well saved except the value for the number of transcoding threads which always returns to the default value (automatic).
Edited March 21, 2023 by creat-x
GrimReaper 4739 Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 (edited) Go to your server programdata folder (you can find its location as per: On 2/15/2023 at 7:49 PM, Happy2Play said: You can find your server info on the dashboard three dot menu. ) Look inside config folder for encoding.xml file. Check value for <EncodingThreadCount> tag - if it's "0" (means Maximum), your saves have not taken (permission issue?). Change that value to desired thread count, save xml, restart Emby server. Doesn't matter, as that settings is for thread count, not core count - and even those efficiency cores should be up to the task. Btw, i9-12900 has thread count of 24 (8x2 P-cores + 8 E-cores). creat-x 0 Posted March 25, 2023 Author Posted March 25, 2023 Luke, Merci pour votre aide. Luke, Thanks for your help.
creat-x 0 Posted March 25, 2023 Author Posted March 25, 2023 There is no <EncodingThreadCount></EncodingThreadCount> tag in the "encoding.xml" configuration file. Even when I add the <EncodingThreadCount></EncodingThreadCount> tag, its value is not taken into account after restarting the emby server. nano /var/lib/emby/config/encoding.xml After restarting the emby server

GrimReaper 4739 Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Sorry, I cannot reproduce not having <EncodingThreadCount> tag present, with value either "-1" (Auto), "1" to "16" (no. of threads) or "0" (Maximum). Maybe is per-platform thing or something is off with your install, Dev will have to comment. @Luke
Luke 42077 Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 0 is the default anyway. What are you trying to do?
