Questions about the latest beta version of Android TV emby

Movies in RMVB format need to be transcoded and played, as well as videos of 720p h264 high10? I think this is wrong. Why is there no lyrics displayed in embyTV music playback?

Your client device doesn't report support for rm files, hence transcoding.

Likewise for AVC Hi10p profile, no device that I know of offers HW decoding support for it, not even a Shield:

Played directly how? External player playing locally? Maybe it's just SW decoding.

Although not recommended as it'd likely lead to other issues, for test purposes you can temporary disable transcoding for your user (Settings>User>edit desired user) and force those files to be served directly, see how does that compare, do you get playback failure or they play successfully?

I have done this experiment, and I will be prompted that it cannot be played. I think you can make some changes to make these files play.

Not sure what changes you would like if your device refuses to play them when served directly. But maybe @ebrmight give you some insight.

Nothing supports playing Hi10-P.  NOTHING.  It was a fringe aspect of the H.264 Codec that was dropped.
