Guest BogartManor Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Tried on different TV's and Roku Boxes and desktop; my Emby keeps freezing and buffering? My internet is showing over 500mbps. Any help?
GrimReaper 4740 Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
Guest BogartManor Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Hopefully this will help embyserver.txt embyserver-63814262400.txt
ebr 16176 Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Hi. There is no playback in those logs. Please provide logs from when the problem occurs along with a complete description of what happened. Thanks.
Guest BogartManor Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 This is the most recent log. Hopefully it's what your looking for. Tried playing a movie last night at roughly 6:10pm and it just buffered at 33% for some reason like it keeps doing. embyserver.txt
ebr 16176 Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Hi. that log is from this morning and has no playback in it. 5 hours ago, BogartManor said: it just buffered at 33% Are you using a Roku by any chance? Were any ffmpeg logs produced?
Guest BogartManor Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 There was no logs from last night. Yes I have to use a Roku box on that TV, because it's not an Android TV so it doesn't allow downloading of apps. That was the most recent log there was.
ebr 16176 Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Have you disabled any of the playback/transcoding options in your server?
Guest BogartManor Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 No everything is allowed so it can playback and transcode up to 4K quality.
ebr 16176 Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 And there are no ffmpeg logs on your server from the playback you attempted last night? There should be a server log from last night (last updated probably around midnight) unless you deleted it already.
Guest BogartManor Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Nope, only one log from yesterday. Didn't delete any logs

Trying to figure out if your issue is something with the server or the Roku client. Edited March 17, 2023 by speechles
Guest BogartManor Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 On remote desktop it freezes and eventually loads. Even tried the same movie on an OLED tv using just android app and it froze.

Emby logs rotate at about midnight every day but the previous one is still there in the folder. Can you please create the problem and then post the server log (and any ffmpeg logs that may be created) right after that?
Guest BogartManor Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 Sorry, been sidetracked. I'll try it again tonite and see if I still get the same thing and then check tomorrow for logs.
Guest BogartManor Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 21 Transcoding logs in less than 40 seconds last night. This is the first one ffmpeg-transcode-1d253504-5c8e-4e07-91f2-ea011617b663_1.txt
ebr 16176 Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Can we please see the server log that went with that? Thanks.
ebr 16176 Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Hi. That is riddled with errors. Is it possible the drive you have selected for transcoding temp is running out of space or something?
Guest BogartManor Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Not at all; plenty of space on the drive
Guest BogartManor Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Is it errors because of the way the settings are?
