Cannot connect to server

I've recently tried to make the switch to Emby after getting fed up with Plex and all it's bugs and I'm off to a very rocky start. I'm running everything local and wired. Server is Win 10 Pro. I cannot see the server on any devices (AppleTV, Shield Pro, MacOS). I've tried both Emby Connect and connecting directly via the local IP.  I've searched the forums for solutions and tried multiple things and nothing's worked. I enabled "Media Streaming" in Windows, I checked the Windows Firewall and both ports and the Emby app have access. Not really sure what else to do and would really appreciate some help from the pros before I give up and search a different Plex alternative. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Sorry, thought it was clear from my post that I said local. Haven't tried remote because I have no need for remote access. I already went through the trouble shooting and none of the steps worked. I also tried pinging app.emby.media from the server PC and was able to get a response. But cannot get the server to connect on any device on my LAN.

Leave that for now, that's only loading hosted Web app instead of local which is irrelevant currently; so just to confirm, you can connect from server PC via locahost:port?

I saw that on some forums so thought I'd try everything. And yes, can connect from the server PC in the browser using localhost.

Saw that posted on another forum, thought I'd give it a try. Yes, connects from the server PC in the browser using localhost:port

Good. And the LAN address shown in your server Dashboard is the one you tried to connect from client apps? In your firewall, have you ensured that rules are for Private networks, not Public? If you temporary disable firewall completely, are you able to connect?

Yes, using the LAN address from the dashboard. And yes, it's set for both pub and private. I disabled the firewall and was able to login from my ATV.  (Didn't try this before because it specifically said not to in the troubleshooting guide)

That was just for testing purposes and to ascertain that route is open and to confirm or exclude firewall as the underlying issue. Anyway, it's obvious now that it is firewall blocking your connections. Do you have any EmbyServer.dll (not .exe) process rules blocked maybe?

I don't see anything but Embyserver.exe in the list.

Why do you have so many Emby rules? Which ports are those? Particularly that highlighted and disabled Private rule?

I didn't create any of them. I assumed they were created when I installed Emby.

Emby should create 4 rules by default, 2 for Private and 2 for Public for embyserver.exe TCP and UDP. IMHO you've got too many of those process rules up there. If you enable that embyserver.exe Private rule from your previous screenshot, does anything change? What are the details for first two rules, what path is shown?

I would delete the Emby firewall rules.

Shut down Emby and edit the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\config\system.xml

Change <IsPortAuthorized>true</IsPortAuthorized> to <IsPortAuthorized>false</IsPortAuthorized>

then start Emby again to reauthorize the ports.

Thanks. I ended up just deleting a couple of the extra rules and it's now working. Must have been there from a previous install or something because I definitely didn't add them. Still tinkering around but getting some audio dropouts and then audio sync issues happening with remux files so still a WIP.
