if you run a movie from the collection
then play trailers from the collection

option - 2 intros before the movie
watching a movie from a collection of 3 movies
and watching 2 trailers of two other films from the collection...
lol

This is fine?
looks very strange
why not show trailers of a random movie from the library?

Hi.  The feature tries to show you trailers that are likely to be like the movie you are watching.  The fact it is showing trailers for the other items in the collection would indicate this is working fairly well :).

ok but it's a bit weird
why should I recommend movies from this collection if I have already launched a movie from this collection? )))
you turn on the 1st film Lord of the Rings, and they show you the trailer of the 2nd film))))

it would probably be better to recommend new content to the user))

please add "random" options (i.e. not necessarily a similar movie)
or "exclude trailers from this collection" (but similar movies)
or both options))) then it will be possible to configure as you want

similar and from this collection.
similar, but exclude the current collection.
any movie

Do grouped collection items influence the intro trailer or is it just a coincidence a trailer from an item in that collection gets played?

But at the same time "More Like This" list would be similar with those items having the best match.

from Alien (1979)

It doesn't influence it, no.

Cinema Intros is going to produce very similar results to More Like This. Well, usually at least.

As far as this request, yes this has come up before, regarding Cinema Intros, and it's something we can look at. Although it's tricky because you could have other collections, for example, you could have a collection called Favorite Movies, but you wouldn't necessarily want to exclude all of those.

didn't quite understand what you mean

i see the problem like thi
if you run the movie at 10 times, the trailer will ALWAYS be the same
why?
it would be better to just choose a trailer to show every time the movie is launched, and not like now from a pre-prepared list

for example "300 Spartans" I launch the film and ALWAYS the trailer of the 2nd film ... always ...
turn on the option "only unwatched movies"
change the status of the 1st movie to "watched"
starting part 2
and ..... I see the trailer of the 1st part
lol. it's a funny situation
you watched the 1st movie, start the 2nd one, and watch the trailer of the movie you just watched...))))

I thought it was the collection problem, no...
it's just weird plugin logic

the simplest solution is to make a choice of a trailer at the moment the movie starts, so that every time the movie starts, the trailers are DIFFERENT))) and most importantly, it will remove the error when the plugin shows the trailer of the "WATCHED" movie

it would be great to add "similar movies" options
that is, to be able to choose whether to show trailers from similar films, or show the trailer of ANY film

Thank you )))
I'm waiting for a fix))

yes, you are right, people ask for it, but why didn't they do it? )))

because it's really not difficult, a couple of lines of code for choosing a "random" trailer from the collection

now it looks very strange, i'm try start 10 times the movie
and the trailer is ALWAYS the same, why? there are no more similar films in the collection?
I have 1200+ of their films))))

I would suggest not only the "random" option
but also "exclude current collection"
Why?

Well... why offer a person to watch the film Lord of the Rings (for example, the 2nd part) if he starts watching the 1st part?

don't you think it's stupid?

Isn't it more logical to offer a person a new movie? a new experience, perhaps a movie that he has never heard of (albeit a similar one without the "random" option), but now the plugin offering not just "similar" movies, but the same ones .. those films that person already know

and it’s stupid that in 90%+ cases it’s a movie from the same collection

Do you want to watch Lord of the Rings 1?
Here's the trailer for Part 2, would you like to see it? ))))

want to see spiderman 1? Here's the trailer for part 2...
Well, this is complete nonsense))))

Hi.  Because those are mutually exclusive events running the same selection logic.

The system doesn't have knowledge of previous events of a similar kind.  Improvements can, no doubt, be made but that is how it is designed right now.

Yeah, it should be more random than it is.

And I definitely don't like getting a trailer for the sequel to the film I'm about to start. Yeah, it's similar, but it's also full of spoilers for the thing I'm just about to watch.

That has to be an anomaly or data issue because we do be sure to exclude the item being played.

It's never happened before, and Vantage Point is a bit funky at the moment because I'm on the beta server. I can't get local trailers to play at all, only online trailers, and yet it picked the local trailer for the film I was about to watch. Definitely some sort of weird one-off.
