Change folder locations without having to rescan

I just got a 12tb drive for my master backup and once it's done having all my files on my main drives and partitions copied to it and verified I will be wiping the two 8tb drives and setting them up as My Files I and My Files 2 instead of individual partitions for each content type and then copying and splitting up the files on the master back between them. The new set up will be /mnt/My Files I/Television/ etc... instead of /mnt/Television/ etc... I'd like to know if I can change the location in my libraries without having to rescan everything since it will be the same content? Thanks

Content doesn't matter, paths do, as all items in the database would be nuked and readedd - so full rescan would be necessary (having NFOs and artwork with your media would considerably speed up the process).

If you feel comfortable playing with dB, have a read here:

Thanks for the link. Seems easy enough, but looks like it might just be faster to just change the patch in my current libraries and let it rescan. Thanks again.

Hi.  You might think about using a drive pooling solution of some kind while you're doing this and then this will never be an issue again.
