How to reset all images in a collection (not replacing)

Hello,

 

I have an issue here and i'm not sure how to solve it.

 

I'm french and i would like to have the pictures for movies etc in french, for some movies it's already in french but for some it's not, i think the parameters weren't correct before. And I would like to completely reset the pictures chosen for the movies. Not just replace but really reset to be sure to get the first option available and then I will manually edit to be sure I have what I want.

 

Like here, one is in french the other in english, don't know why (espacially that when manually choosing one i can select pictures just in french)

So my question is. How do I reset completely the images which are already used/replaced?

Really hard to say exactly but will guess provider order.

What is your Image fetcher order on the library?

FOr movies it's this one

I don't think that's the issue (it maybe was)

 

The issue is that when i corrected this set up and replaced every pictures, for some movies there was no french pictures available anymore (im guessing) so that's why i want to reset every pictures without having to delete/reinstall the whole collection

Minus errors in your log, you should be getting language images from TMDB assuming system or library preferred download language is set.

Once imported all you can do is Refresh all or search for missing with replace images either on the entire library or multi-select specific items to try and correct.

Unless the items themselves have a set language.  Edit metadata on item at the bottom of the menu.

Yeah exactly, that's why i want to reset everything first then correct manually. if there is no way i will just reset the collection

Do now what you mean by Collection but will guess the library.

As mentioned you just do a Refresh Metadata-Refresh all or Search for missing and check replace images via the library card or same options via library setup.

But if the items themselves have a set language Emby will not override it.

Again you don't get it. When doing replace it will then exclude some images from the pool.

 

I just want to reset every picture to the first choice available (which isn't anymore if I do the replace all)

Guess I don't as replace image will replace the image with the highest rated language image from the provider so in my test I set my preferred image download to French and did a Refresh search for missing w/replace images and image changed from English to French on Finding Dory.

Yes but I already replaced multiple times and now I'm stuck with no pvures on pictures in the wrong language in some cases because for this movies there isn't that much pictures available in the first place.i just want to reset all pictures. Without blocking some from being used. therefore reset

How exactly did you replace the pictures?

with the replace functionnality. I just want to hard reset every picture, like it would be if i reset my whole library

What I would suggest is clicking the 3-dot menu on a top level folder -> then click refresh metadata -> then check the box to replace existing images.

that's exactly that, will have to check if it didn't erase modified metadata but normally i locked them when i did it.

@Lukewould have to confirm but I believe images are locked also when you LOCK metadata.  But that is exactly what I recommended previously.

Yep it is. Any locked movie didn't have any change. It worked fine
