MovieGoer2021 4 Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Hey guys, I have manually added theme music files to my folders according to the naming rules described on your website. However, even after rescanning the media folders again, the theme music still does not play either on the web version or on the app. The only way that works is by removing the all the media files and adding them back, and then rescanning the folder, is that a bug or something? Could you guys help me solve this problem.

Not that I know of, just tested manually adding theme music to one item, having no issues for it to be recognized/played either on stable or beta sever. Which server version & platform you're running? Edited February 26, 2023 by GrimReaper
MovieGoer2021 4 Posted February 26, 2023 Author Posted February 26, 2023 Hi there. How have you named those files? I named the file "theme.mp3" and put it in the folder, for example, /movies/Interstellar(2014)/theme.mp3 Which app? Have you Enabled theme songs in app settings for either Web app or whatever other client app you're using? I use Chrome and the iso Emby app, the theme song feature has been enabled. Which server version & platform you're running? I use Windows Sever version 4.7.11.0
GrimReaper 4749 Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 That all sounds in order. Have you run Scan library task upon adding those themes, in case RTM didn't pick them up?

The only solution I found is to first move /Interstellar(2014) out of the Movie folder, and then delete the movie from the webpage, and then move /Interstellar(2014) back to /Movies, and run Scan library again, after that the theme song will finally start playing.
Solution GrimReaper 4749 Posted February 26, 2023 Solution Posted February 26, 2023 Sorry, cannot recreate, wherever I put theme.mp3 it just plays upon scan. Try manually running Scan media library scheduled task (Settings>(scroll down) Scheduled Tasks tab>(scroll mid way) Scan media library>press Play icon right-end) instead of library menu Scan library files, see whether that'll make a difference (though it generally shouldn't).

visproduction 316 Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 (edited) I just put the mp3 or flac theme music file in a subfolder theme-music. Make sure you have a correctly made .mp3 file and you are not just renaming a different audio codec type file to the mp3 extension. Also, there appears to be a bug that causes theme music to not play. If the folder name is different from the main video name before any dash, then theme music fails to play. This seems to stop theme music from playing. Folder name: Vacation video 2019 Media name: Vacation vid (2019).mp4 This works: Folder name: Vacation video 2019 Media name: Vacation video 2019 - 720P.mp4 Or this also works: Folder name: Vacation video 2019 Media name: Vacation video 2019.mp4 Hope that helps. Don't really follow as I had no issue with theme music with different folder/media names. Die Hart the Movie Anything.strm theme.mp3 But sounds like @MovieGoer2021is having database issues if removing, scanning, readding corrects the issue. Delete is not needed as Emby will automatically remove it via RTM or library scan (should be full scan to clear the database completely) when items are physically removed from library folder. 1
