justinrh 260 Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Why is a "Camera Roll" folder created under the uploading device's folder for camera uploads from the Android app? E.g., C:\Users\EmbyGuy\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\data\camerauploads\Galaxy Tab A (2016)\Camera Roll That folder doesn't correspond to anything.
Luke 42078 Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 That folder is the name of the photo album that came from the device. If there isn't one, the server defaults it to Camera Roll.
justinrh 260 Posted February 26, 2023 Author Posted February 26, 2023 So what's the logic for this? How does the Camera Roll folder help me? Why does Emby need a default? If Emby is going to create folders, I'd think it would be useful to mimic the source folder. I uploaded pics from two folders on the tablet.
Solution Luke 42078 Posted February 28, 2023 Solution Posted February 28, 2023 Actually sorry I was wrong. We are not defaulting it to Camera Roll. Android is giving us this as the bucket display name for the image: https://developer.android.com/reference/android/provider/MediaStore.MediaColumns#BUCKET_DISPLAY_NAME 1
