Bingegang 3 Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Hey team. My Emby doesn't identify a lot of movies. Last night i had to identify more than 70 movies manually. I looked at the tutorial about naming files and i did like it said: I tried with imdb and tmdb, like this: "Action Point (2018) tt6495770.mkv" and like this "Action Point (2018) 454283.mkv" and of course like this: "Action Point (2018)" This is just un example. I had almost all the movies ok, and then i did a refresh metadata and lost almost all movies identity. No info metadata about the movies and images. I have to identify more than 300 movies like that?! Can't you take a look to see why Emby can't identify a movie name like "Action Point (2018) tt6495770.mkv"? It would be perfect and avoid bad metadata info or movie.
GrimReaper 4739 Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Hi there. You almost got it right, just not quite, as you should append folder names with Providerids, not file names; they must be specified and they must be placed inside square brackets, so in your example: 5 hours ago, Bingegang said: "Action Point (2018) tt6495770.mkv" "Action Point (2018) 454283.mkv" movie folder should be named: Action Point (2018) [imdbid=tt6495770] or Action Point (2018) [tmdbid=454283] Rename, rescan, and you should be set.
Bingegang 3 Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 (edited) So i have to write down like this?: {Movie Title} ({Release Year}) [imdbid={ImdbId}] Thanks for helping. Edited February 25, 2023 by Bingegang

Bingegang 3 Posted March 20, 2023 Author Posted March 20, 2023 Hey there. I have a last question. I did what we already solved... All my movies have the name like this: Purple Hearts (2022) [tmdbid=762975].mkv But there's still an issue. I have more than 4000 movies and it's been weeks there i'm waiting for Emby to identify all my movies. i have more than 1000 movies not identified. I can launch a metadata scan every 2 or 3 days and it looks like it's not identifying the rest of the movies. Do you think there's an issue with Emby or with tmdbid or somthing else? Thanks again

Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Need to see corresponding server logs as they are the only place to see issues.

Luke 42077 Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Can you try using the Identify feature on Top Gun Maverick. Does it get an image after that?

I tried another stuff and it worked. I choosed to download all images and nfo. But i think what was the problem was that i choose to receive metadata in french and from france. So i choose to DL metadata in french and left blank for the country. Since then it DL everything ^^ Thanks again.
Luke 42077 Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Actually check the bottom of the metadata editor on some of your titles. I think you may have locked metadata on some or all of your items. 1
gmjh123 3 Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 I've tried following the instructions on this thread to identify a Netflix show called Kleo. Emby will not identify it at all. [imdbid={tt15135104}]

The name of the show is Kleo TV database id is 417268 [tvdbid-417268] This results in nothing turning up in the search Same with IMDb
Lessaj 467 Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Not seeing any issue here with both IMDB and TVDB, you'll have to provide your server log.

Okay thanks, but the link the other person provided seems to say that you have to have brackets etc. That guide is either wrong or confusing. https://emby.media/support/articles/TV-Naming.html#id-tags-in-folder--file-names Anyway I think the problem is that I don't have this show as a whole season, I only have individual episodes. If I try identifying it from an individual episode of Kleo it always fails. This is what I get with the tvdb id of 417268 Edited August 24, 2024 by gmjh123
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 (edited) Still need to see server log for your example but identification and season contents are different issue. What metadata providers do you have enable on your library? Will guess disabled provider or can not communicate with provider. tvdb id of 417268 Edited August 24, 2024 by Happy2Play
