PipoudouSenpai 0 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Dear all, I'm quite new in the Emby' world. I actually have few To of movies/tvshows to organise and I would like to know how you guys deal with this amount of datas. What is the architecture folder and name to follow in order to avoid annoying problems? Moreover, can we automatically fin metadatas of the movies/shows from the internet (don't do it manually if possible)? Thanks a lot !
Q-Droid 989 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 This should have what you need. https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/folders/44000764515
Q-Droid 989 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 The built-in metadata plug-ins can take care of most things unless you have specific needs. For the media file naming the examples are shown at the root level but that isn't needed. You can have a base path or multiples such as /mnt/media/video/movies, etc. The one rule to remember is you don't want nested library paths because that will cause problems. Nested as in the end subdirectory of one library included in the path of another making it not unique.
PipoudouSenpai 0 Posted February 24, 2023 Author Posted February 24, 2023 (edited) Is there any software which can format my files quickly? By scanning meta or else.. And also move video files to the right folder [redacted]? Edited February 27, 2023 by GrimReaper References

I assume your source is [redacted] so I cant speak to that, but if [redacted] Sonaar/Radarr is the Rolls Royce Edited February 27, 2023 by GrimReaper References
PipoudouSenpai 0 Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 (edited) Okay, I will use radarr and Sonarr to deal with. But if I have right understood, this two will auto change the format name file and structure folders for my [redacted] movies/series? Il will not organize my actuals movies/series [redacted] before I installed Radarr/sonarr? Does it? Edited February 27, 2023 by GrimReaper References

You need something like FileBot (or similar). Edited February 27, 2023 by GrimReaper References

Correct, it is not retroactive but will do what you need going forward (assuming youre using [redacted], not sure what you'd use if you [redacted]). Edited February 27, 2023 by GrimReaper References
