MyronAub 13 Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 TL;DR Practically everything I play now has lip sync issues (often just slightly out but sometimes we are talking hundreds of milliseconds if not a whole second) delay with the default player, to the extent that whenever I press Play I then have to immediately pause, go to settings and choose "Playback Correction" which always does thankfully correct it. One problem is I don't know where to start to diagnose what the problem might be? Can anyone tell me what "Playback Correction" actually does as that may give some clues as to what's causing the issue. FULL VERSION Emby Server 4.7.11.0 -> Emby Client 2.0.83g on nVidia Shield Pro -> Lumagen Radiance Pro -> Denon AVC-X6700H Amp & Sony VPL-VW590ES Projector I've always had the occasional file with lip sync issues but over the last few weeks it seems that every single movie or show I watch has lip sync delays; often not just a few tens of milliseconds but hundreds of milliseconds out of sync. Going to settings and choosing "Playback Correction" always corrects the issue. It doesn't matter whether the video is SD, 1080p or 4K, HDR or non-HDR, the lip sync issue rears its ugly head. The nVidia Shield is hard-wired to the Emby server via several hubs and switches and it makes no difference whether the video file is physically on the same server or if it lives on a separate NAS. Possibly related is that sometimes after pausing and pressing play, the sounds plays fine but the video stutters, like a slow motion freeze frame. Pausing and playing again normally resolves this issue. Any thoughts on where to start looking to resolve this? embyserver(6).txt

You can try sideloading standard Android app (bound to supersede AndroidTV app in some foreseeable future) and see how does that compare: https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html 1
rbjtech 5284 Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 (edited) Have a look in the Denon AVR setup - it should have a 'sync' option which can advanced or delay the HDMI audio. This may fix the issue. https://manuals.denon.com/AVRX6700H/NA/EN/GFNFSYxnslsydu.php The Lumagen may have something similar as well. Edited February 27, 2023 by rbjtech
