MP3 Audio not playing on Fire TV

MP3s in my music library do not play, but only on my fire tv.  They work on all other platforms.

When I try to play them they appear on screen with an animated "sound" graph but no sound comes out and the progress bar does not move.

I have looked at the audio settings in the apps options and tried forcing stereo etc. but still not noise from these files.  Audio in the TV files and Movie Files works perfectly.

I am fairly sure this has started happening recently as I demonstrated it to my wife after I had finally managed to get around to re-setting up my emby server.   I do remember the Fire TV doing a firmware upgrade a week or so ago and wondered if something has changed in the way the device plays MP3.  Maybe they've dropped the codec or something?

I'm not seeing any others having this issue though so it is more likely something about my setup that is causing the issue.  Any ideas to help resolve welcome.

Hi.  Can you check the audio settings on the device itself?

Hi EBR,  I did that in the options of the FireTV stick and changed it away from Auto to each of the available option.  I thought at first forcing it to Stereo might work.   There were no changes to noise coming out and the screen view remained the same.  It feels like the MP3s are not streaming to the device, though they do to all my other devices.

I can yes, will do that this lunch time and see what happens.

Hi Luke,

I did this, and the Android version of the player plays music files perfectly.  Once I checked that I then went back to the Fire TV version and this did not play the music files.

Are you happy continuing to use that?

I can for now, would be better if the Amazon app worked properly, but If I am the only one with an issue certainly not worth the extra effort for 😉

I will test periodically to see if amazon updates fix it at all.
