80srule 33 Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Weird thing my emby server is always rock solid but tonight in the middle of a show it just crashed and finally after getting things to come back now I get about 10 min of a show then it just stops and looks paused on screen. Using both the mobile app and the android tv app. If I stop and start it picks up and plays about 10-12 min again. I attached the log file I scanned through it but didn't see anything but then I wasn't sure what I was looking for other than the crash. Thank you And thanks to everyone who works on this. It has been the best and most stable media platform I have used. embyserver-5.txt
Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 What was played? Do you have the ffmpeg log for this playback session? My only guess would be something the non-Emby ffmpeg/ffprobe in the "whatbox" build.
80srule 33 Posted February 16, 2023 Author Posted February 16, 2023 I don't know why they dont just stick with the default build. I was playing a show called outer range. Neither the mobile or the android tv app worked. But I gave up went to bed when I got up in the morning it all worked. Did the log file say why the server crashed? Because it was after the crash is when it started.
80srule 33 Posted February 19, 2023 Author Posted February 19, 2023 I had another crash this evening and it’s exactly as before where it seems like it is back up but yet nothing plays. Finally I got it back up. But I’m still not seeing the error causing the crash. It’s played great for a month open till the other day and now this again. embyserver.txt

Thanks.
80srule 33 Posted February 24, 2023 Author Posted February 24, 2023 I’ll see. I don’t know if it’s still there. I know there were several things being played. I wasn’t the only one watch him on that happened. If I can’t find it and it happens again, I’ll definitely grab those other logs.
80srule 33 Posted March 4, 2023 Author Posted March 4, 2023 (edited) ok hoping this will help. I never saw this hardware detection before so I uploaded it. Can you try rebooting the machine and see if that helps? Thanks.

I have rebooted the emby server as well as the whole whatbox cloud server Rebooting emby now Edited March 4, 2023 by 80srule
Luke 42077 Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 If you rebooted the entire machine, then the next step would be to troubleshoot the locked database file. In the event you're working with the server database file directly, you'll need to close it, as that would cause this. If that's it, then I would take a look at this and go through all of the steps in order: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44002210894-corrupt-database

Not about integrity it is about Locked database at least from the last server log. Busy: database is locked So if you shut down Emby do the library.db -shm/-wal files remain? If so you need to delete them per the linked KB and start Emby again.
80srule 33 Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 Yes I followed the link you sent deleted those files and ran the check it passed so hopefully we are good

80srule 33 Posted April 22, 2023 Author Posted April 22, 2023 I am seeing an issue with my server scanning. It hangs on tv shows and never goes beyond the 90%. I posted here because I thought maybe it's all tied together with the other errors I have. I have noticed over the past few weeks that also if I dont force a scan nothing updates on my library. Where before as I made changes the library would update that section shortly after. Thank you and sorry I keep having issues. embyserver-7.txt
Q-Droid 989 Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 I haven't looked at the logs but did you check to see if your filesystem is filling up. Transcoding temp and/or emby config location?
80srule 33 Posted April 22, 2023 Author Posted April 22, 2023 Where would I find that info? TO my knowledge nothing in settings has changed. But how would I check this? 7 minutes ago, Q-Droid said: I haven't looked at the logs but did you check to see if your filesystem is filling up. Transcoding temp and/or emby config location?

Then restart the server and see how things compare. Thanks.

Manage Emby Server (server admin) -> Dashboard -> 3-dot next to server name -> View server info. Those paths listed are the ones to check for free space while playback is failing. Plus the suggestions from @Luke and @Happy2Play. Edit: Nevermind. I thought the recent posts were about the playback stopping after 10 minutes or so, not the stuck scanning.
