CPU: AMD 5600G with Vega7 APU

Platform: Docker on linux, kernel 6.1.0, uses offical emby/embyserver:4.7.2.0 image

Normal GPU transcoding is working. But HDR tone mapping has no effect, the picture is still gray when playing HDR video

Please post the server and ffmpeg log for a specific example.

Doesn't look like you enabled it.

Info Tone Mapping would be desired, but VAAPI tone mapping mapping method is set to 'none'

@softworkzare there separate settings?  Or is the diagnostic plugin needed.

Is there a reason you are on an old server?

Emby Server version: 4.7.2.0

The selection on the Transcoding page can switch it on or off only.
With the Diagnostics Plugin you get more detailed control (and it's a bit better understandable).

I upgraded the image to the latest version 'emby/embyserver:4.7.11.0', and installed 'Diagnostic Options 4.7.0.60' plugin

Now I enabled 'Tone Mapping' in 'Diagnostic Options 4.7.0.60' plugin, I find that the GPU does not work and the CPU is full when transcoding, the picture is very blurred, like p2.jpg

Here is the latest server and ffmpeg log, photos, thanks for helping!

I just tried to use 'AMD Radeon RX590 GME' GPU for transcoding, and the results are consistent. so I think Hardware HDR tone mapping can only be used on Intel GPU

Yes, that's correct!
