Guide hangs when switching users

Using Chromecast w/ Google TV, this is not a problem in the web app. 

I've noticed an issue with the EPG not working as expected when switching users.  When changing to another user in the Android TV app, if I go directly to the guide, it'll take multiple minutes to load, and in the process will sometimes crash the app (it relaunches back to the user selection screen since I have it configured that way).  However, if I play a channel first, then launch the guide it'll load almost instantly.  This happens every time I switch users.  The last user to access the guide successfully does not have this issue again even if I force stop the app and reopen it.

I can try that tomorrow, I can tell you that I have no issues with this use case on my Pixel 6 Pro. 

Since getting sideload to work likely requires ADB, would a logcat be helpful?

In the long term will the android app become the TV app?  

I did notice that there are some differences between the 2, I will need to test the sideloaded app longer term and report back.  One thing I won't like is the need to manually update the app.

I believe the aim is for the general Android app to replace the Android TV app, when it has got close enough in features for people to accept it.
