Theme songs showing in music?

Firstly, I am on the beta server, but I believe this is a general bug.

I decided to use the movie theme plugin (and also the TV one), these (as you know) download "theme.mp3" files into the movie/TV libraries. So, All good. well, until I started finding entries in my music collection that I don't have. They have no files associated with them (so clicking play results in an error) as they are not part of my music library.

So, it took a LONG time to find them.

It turns out that these theme.mp3 files can also be tagged. Emby then decides to add these tags to the music data and include them as an entry. See pictures.

The first picture is the file in my directory structure. This is in /Movies/ (as can be seen) and you can also see the mp3 tags it has. The second picture is the entry in my music library,

As i say, these "theme.mp3" files are being listed in my music library, along with the artist etc. So, for now, going to delete all of them and let media browsing go silent. :)

(On another note - that i should add to requests) selecting edit metadata on music would have been much easier if it showed the path to the file like movies do - why does music omit this?)

Will do.

I did discover a handy bit of software called DbPoweramp. This can batch check all mp3 in /Movies for example, normalise, strip tags, add fade to start and end, cut to 60 sec clip, and more. So, as an interim measure, this fixes it. Plus the bonus of the fades.

I have kept some original files to test with later though on the next server update.

  • Thanks 1
