mschlott 0 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 I have MBT running on my Media Browser server. I have 2 tuners configured in Windows Media Server have the ServerWMC plugin configured. Any time I try to watch live TV I ffmpeg takes up all the CPU and the video barely plays. Is it normal for transcoding to always occur for live TV? Do I need to configure a decoder somewhere for MPEG2?

Spaceboy 2573 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 its normal unfortunately. it hasn't really been explained why or when it might be changed.
arrmo 6 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Hi, Sorry, trying to understand - if I read this right (and it does match what I see) ... Live TV is transcoded, even if the maximum bitrate is higher than the actual bitrate ... right? Is there a reason for this? Just trying to understand why I can't DirectStream Live TV. Thanks!
