rbjtech 5284 Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Am I losing the plot here, or is there no way to create (and sort) a numbered playlist or collection within emby ? I'm trying to create a numbered list - lets say it's the IMDB Top 250 Films. I want the 'number/order' to show. I can add them all that's not the issue - but as there is no way to sort on lets say a tag, or othered numbered metadata - all I have is the order they were created in the playlist ? (name, date etc are all useless as this is a number ordered list). Any ideas ?

Happy2Play 9783 Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 No, but at the same time is that not just a SortTitle? But that is global and if you do not group into collections it mess with default sorting. But would think the database would have to be expanded to accommodate this. 1

Sort by 'Tag' in the collection/playlist would have been an option (if I added an IMDB 'rank' Tag) - but even that option doesn't exist.. ok thanks - hopefully this sort of basic functionality will be included in the long overdue Playlist revamp ..

(sorry, I don't have that Plugin installed atm)..

Time for a script I think - I guess if I create the .m3u playlist file dynamically from a imdb id list - then I think it will be updated on an emby refresh. It won't display order numbers, but at least it will be in the right order ... (why is nothing ever easy .. ) 1

That might work - thanks All just looking at the SmartPlaylist source in VS - with a view to adding Tag as a sort item but of course you can have multiple tag's, so that's probably why it was never added as it'll get complex real quick .. 1

The embedded track number, or for episode, the episode number. Non-episodic videos will generally not have that. 1
