11thour 1 Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Hello All, I am a 10yr Plex Lifetime user with GPU Transcoding for the last 4yrs on an Unraid box. I have decided that I do not like where plex is going and have decided to make the switch so I just purchased the Emby Lifetime. Right out of the gate I have an issue with the Container. Following the good man SpaceInvader One, I am not able to add my nvidia gpu to the container setup. See the attached. in addition when attempting to install the lunuxserver vs. the official to play with the app I am also greeted with. docker: Error response from daemon: error gathering device information while adding custom device "/dev/vchiq": no such file or directory. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.
Luke 42077 Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Hi, where do you get that message? How does our official container compare?
11thour 1 Posted February 6, 2023 Author Posted February 6, 2023 (edited) Hi @Luke, The Official is about the same regarding the gpu . see the attached. The Official does appear to install fine and I can play with it. I added my key to it as well. Please assume I am my 7yr and let me know what I do not Thank you for your assistance. 11thour 1 Posted February 6, 2023 Author Posted February 6, 2023 (edited) @LukeWhere do I tell Emby that I have a gpu other than the check boxes in the GUI. And if the line is not in the Docker container? Best, G Edited February 6, 2023 by 11thour tag
