Firestick connectivity issues

I have emby running on my server for quite a while and working great. I've been able to share my access online with little trouble. However, I have changed my setup a bit and using Cloudflare as my DNS. Its been working well for a while like that. However, recently i cant get the firesticks to login online. 

I've tested with my laptop using external network connections and have no issues. Also tested with VM and again all good. So I brought the firestick to the local network and it picked it up and connected straight away. When i use an external connection, it looses the connection and will not see it at all. 

I've reinstalled emby on the server, reset all network connections, deleted and remade user accounts, etc etc. I've also made sure that the acounts are linked wit emby connect but still no joy. I even opened up the firewall and used the direct WAN ip and still nothing. 

Is there a way of seeing connection logs or anything on the stick?

If you can get to the login screen that has the "Send Logs" button on it then you could do that after a login failure.

sorry, probably not the most clear of explanations. OK so here is my situation:

ive got the server running well on my qnap. but i have got all my services forwarded using cloudflare tunnels (I have followed all the guides on here). all the tunnels work for all my devices. i share access to some friends and family and been flawless for ages. however it seems there is an issue with it recently. a couple of people use firesticks to access the server and they seem to have a problem acessing it. I went round and tested using my laptop and no problems at all. so i brought the stick home for testing.

i can get it to auto connect immediatly when its on the lan. but as soon as i test it using an external network it cannot login. there doesnt seem to be any logs on the server showing any attempts. I was hoping there might be a place on the stick to see its logs. 

ive now downloaded an alternate emby apk for android and side-loaded that and i've managed to get that to connect.  but i cant get the amazon version to work at all. is there someting i'm missing?

ive tried using emby connect on multiple user accounts, browsers and even systems but nothing will get the stick to login.

I have remote users using FireTV's without issue.

Are you using the full fqdn incl the https:// part in the url connect page - with port 443 (or whatever you are using) ?

Maybe wipe the App, reboot and reinstall the App from the Amazon store ? 2.0.79a is the latest I believe.

yup, full including and port. i've even tried creating another address to test, but still nothing. will try the app refresh...
