mit3gt 6 Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 I have a Chromecast with Google TV feeding my AVR. The problem I am having is Emby is trying to software decode all media with DTS audio. It's always coming over to my avr as PCM. Which is causing the software decode, I think? I am confused because I thought the Chromecast with Google TV supports DTS. I have it turned on in the settings on the device. I get DTS from the installed apps such as HBO Max. It shows this on my avr. Unfortunately, everything playing from emby shows as PCM on my avr. Is this expected behavior? I read about needing a nvidia shield to remedy this situation. I just though that since my avr can hardware decode, the shield would not be needed. Maybe I am not clear on how this should work. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
