iiiJoe 62 Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Hello to all! Currently using m3u and most recordings are full length but there is one channel that seems to have more issues than others. Recordings routinely stop prematurely. When I’m at home and checking the process I can often re-start the recording and it continues as it’s supposed to. Other times I may have to re-start it numerous times ( which is likely due to an unstable stream) but this kind of defeats the purpose of recording. So, my question: is there a setting that I’m missing that would trigger Emby to automatically start recording again when said recording ended prematurely? Thanks in advance! 1
Luke 42083 Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Hi, Emby Server already does this. It tries to restart recordings several times before finally giving up.
iiiJoe 62 Posted February 2, 2023 Author Posted February 2, 2023 I wondered if that was the case. Is the timing between re-starts adjustable?
Luke 42083 Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 It is not adjustable at this time, although it's certainly possible to add if it will help provider-specific situations.
iiiJoe 62 Posted February 21, 2023 Author Posted February 21, 2023 Ahh. I’d be very interested in a plug-in or another option that would allow this adjustment for m3u. I did change my password in case someone or even multiple ppl were using my account without permission. Question: Is there some way to monitor my connection status to know how many of my connections (I have 5 with one provider and 3 with another) are in use at any given time? Also, is there a tool that might allow me to monitor my network and ISP to see where the connection is dropping out?

As far as in Emby Server, no, although it would be a good idea to have this in the live tv setup section. 1

There are m3u checker links that yes will show you connections to the m3u along with expiration date as well connected devices but don't use them as they will get your password then post your m3u subscription on a hundred websites. I don't really think it is fare to put an unstable m3u issue in emby's lap. If it were hdhomerun or a tv tuner or something home hosted yes but not an external m3u that has lord knows how many issues. Of course the recording can fail on 3rd party m3u's.
