Emby TV Play On

I have an issue but I'm not sure if it's a bug or just not possible.

I have both LG TV and Android emby configured. I select LG TV on "Play On" (not DLNA play to, this is disabled), hit play on a movie. Nothing happens. TV source is HDMI 2. If I play 5 different movies nothing happens until I manually focus the LG app, then it does everything I asked it to do like it was in a queue. Can the LG emby app not switch source to the app?
