Suppose you want to add a dept of transportation traffic cam in, is it possible and if so how?

Just as an example, it writes the the same file every interval it's set for but using all the setup protocols (http, file, etc) in the program, I can't get it to work. 
I know this isn't necessarily what it was designed for - but it would sure be nice to have something that would allow it. So far, I have had no luck.

The plugin connects to a rtsp stream from the cctv camera, so im guessing this probably wont work.

You could potentially collect the most recent files yourself and turn them into a stream that the plugin will accept but it would be a bit of work !

Just as a heads-up to others, I was trying to add a couple of solar (battery) powered Reolink cameras and came to find out that this type of camera does not support RTSP or any other type of streaming to third party apps/services.

I was able to add my other POE cameras easily though which is fantastic, great plugin, truly appreciated!

I´m exploring this plug in new to me, will this work only with IP cameras or can I set up a cctv dvr that has already remote over the internet access  ??

I was trying to use this plugin however my system is a newer Hiseeu model (Y4KXVR-8) and requires authentication outside of the URL. 

(I did verify it is not listed on the ispyconnect list already)

The URL path is: rtsp://<ip>:<port>/unicast/c<channel number>/s<stream type>/live

I am using the Generic Camera plugin on Home Assistant and because it has authentication options, it works fine as-expected on HA.

I was wondering if it's possible that we can have a similar authentication option added to the settings of this plugin @Cheesegeezer?
