Movies will not run

Hi,

I have chosen to shut down my Synology NAS and go with a Linux server instead. This has given me a sleuth of problems which I have been chewing though for some time.

Now I have an issue where I am in too deep, so I am crossing my fingers that one of you guys can help me out.
I have installed debian and docker and went down that route.
I have the emby server running and I can see my movies. I just need to be able to play them.

I will say I am no Linux expert (not at all). I am on a journey, so I will just prepare you guys for ignorant questions about Linux :D
I am sure you want some info from my setup.

 docker-init:
  Version:          0.19.0

Docker Run command:
docker run -d --volume /mnt/disk1/EmbyServer/config:/config --volume /mnt/disk1:/mnt/disk1 --restart always --publish 8096:8096 --publish 8920:8920 --env UID=2 --env GID=2 --env GIDLIST=2 --name embyserver emby/embyserver:latest

Please let me know if I can provide you with more/better info.
Thanks

Hi, if you're new to Linux, why not start with our native Debian package? Anyway, I think your issue in Firefox is this:

Hi Luke,

1. Would it be a better simpler solution with the native debian package? (It sure took me a few getting the docker to run, but I apparently love a challenge)

2. OMG I am such an idiot. I forgot that I have dropped Chrome too. I just tested from a VM machine with Win10 where I have Emby theater. And it works like a charm. Dear lord.

If you're saying that you're a beginner then yes it would be simpler because you won't have the whole Docker layer to contend with. But it sounds like you've done fine and you're good to go now.

Thanks Luke,

You are helpful as usual.

I am new to Linux, and also a gamer. I have so much "fun" getting those 2 things to work together :D So this docker thing was nothing compared to that
