Lazarus_Long 80 Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Trying to watch x265 HEVC content in a web browser (Chrome/Edge) and it does direct play but I get "jitter" (for lack of a different term). To solve it I'd like to just have the server transcode it but because the bitrate is so low to begin with (2 Mbps), I need to select 720p - 2Mbps (which gives a crappy pic). Any way to force it to transcode?
Lazarus_Long 80 Posted January 26, 2023 Author Posted January 26, 2023 Actually figured out the problem with stutter/jitter in the web browser. Appears to be a container problem. The movies with the issues are MP4. If I run them through MKVToolNix and switch to MKV they play perfectly. 1 3
cochize1 55 Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Thanks a ton. How come this isn't a bigger issue? MP4 were supposed to be played everywhere by everything but when it comes to HEVC mkv is more reliable all of a sudden?
