SilverTiger46 8 Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 When playing music, the "time remaining" is getting truncated to the left on my TV. This may very well be "overscan" on the TV, but it would be great if it could be moved the right just a hair.
ebr 16169 Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Hi. Isn't time remaining on the right...? Can you show us a screen shot?
SilverTiger46 8 Posted January 26, 2023 Author Posted January 26, 2023 You are correct, it's time played on the left. I could not do screen shots, but I did attach a couple of pics. Like I said, this could be over scan on my TV. I think many TVs do that.
mskenny 8 Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 I have the same issue on two different LG TVs (one OLED, one LED) and I've seen it on a Samsung. Other apps on Roku don't show this issue on the same TVs.
ebr 16169 Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Okay, that must be a 720p (older) Roku device. It actually looks like the positioning is off rather than the overscan. Does either the Roku or the TV input allow you to adjust this?
SilverTiger46 8 Posted January 27, 2023 Author Posted January 27, 2023 The TV has no straight-forward way to adjust it. I think the ROKU is 1080, but I'll need to check. It IS pretty old, by today's standards.
SilverTiger46 8 Posted January 27, 2023 Author Posted January 27, 2023 I just checked. The ROKU stick is 1080P.
mskenny 8 Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 I have a Roku Ultra with an LG 1080P TV. Here are some pictures.

Since it is only 1080P video output the UI was only rendered in 720P. The proof is the screenshot you provided earlier with this image. This rounding on just the top corner is a mistake when rendering to a 720P UI. We have since corrected that rendering mistake on that screen and it will properly round that image in either resolution. It is not the maximum video resolution of your Roku that we are talking about. Your Roku is 1080P video output. But the User Interface is stuck at 720P because of limitations at that time with that chipset. The 720P UI is a bit chunkier and more pixelated. You will never notice it is lower resolution unless you've seen the Emby Roku UI in 1080P. With 4K Roku devices they will include a 1080P UI. We design for both UI resolutions in the app. Edited January 27, 2023 by speechles
SilverTiger46 8 Posted January 28, 2023 Author Posted January 28, 2023 That makes sense (sort of). However, there are a lot of us who have these ROKUs. It's not a big enough deal for me to buy a new ROKU at this point. I can live with it. I was just wondering how big a deal it would be to move it a little to the right, that's all.

You are right and that is what we intend to do. Move it where the entire text shows on the screen, It should never present itself off the screen. It is supposed to be near the edge, but not off the edge. Because the screen saver requires you idle on the audio player for a bit of time, we never saw this, and it got past us. We will be better at catching these things in the future before they get published onto the Roku store. Apologies. If you spot any other issues with your display in regards to text/buttons/anything cut off and not showing fully on screen please let us know. No matter how minor. In order to be better we need people who can find faults and aren't afraid to hurt our feelings. It is okay to give us bad news. We can only get better by knowing where to focus. Thanks. ebr 16169 Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Hi. This should be corrected in the next release of the app. Thanks for reporting. 1
SilverTiger46 8 Posted January 28, 2023 Author Posted January 28, 2023 Speechless, No apology necessary. A good media server. I replaced PEX with it. 1
