New server - Server config Backup plugin !!

My old server just couldn't do transcoding - it still has 20Tb attached though.

Put together a new i7 with 16 Gb and 200 Gb SSD

installed MB server

installed Server config backup on both machines

made a backup and a restore in less than 2 minutes

redirected clients to new server

 

Done !!!  Wow !!  wow !!

A new server

A Gig switch 

And it's a very fast change over

The media files can come at a more convenient time.

 

I'm waiting for 6 TB Reds to become a bit less expensive  $43/Gb would be nice
