RIP314 2 Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 (edited) So I'm trying to find a way to jump directly to a specific season of a show without going through the TV Show details screen. I want to end up directly in the season. Let me explain why I want this. I have a standalone library for all my pro wrestling content. In my opinion the best way to organize wrestling is Promotion\Year\Content (ie WWF/WWF 1988/WWF WrestleMania IV[*movie]). Now I'm using a mixed library in order to keep all the TV shows (i.e. Monday Night Raw) and "PPVs" (one-off events which show up as movies i.e. WrestleMania) in the same location. Here is what I'm working with right now. So far so good. The one problem I have and it is just one of convenience is that when I click on a TV Show (i.e. WWF Superstars Of Wrestling) I get sent to the TV Show details screen as you would expect... but is there a way instead to just link directly to the season corresponding with the year (i.e. 1988). Meaning if I go into the WWF 1988 folder and click on the Superstars Of Wrestling tv show I get sent directly to here... I've tried a few different things to solve this, but haven't been able to figure a work around. I have most of my TV shows in their own separate directory (the typical Television/Show Title/Season format) on my PC and I use mklinks (symlinks) to make them appear in the YEAR folders they belong to. The way I choose to do this is to make a folder with the title of the show inside the YEAR folder (i.e. WWF/WWF 1988/WWF Superstars/), in that new TV show folder (WWF Superstars) I make a symlink directory junction to the season folder corresponding to that year as seen below. mklink /J "...Television/WWF Superstars Of Wrestling/Season 1988" "...WWF/WWF 1988/WWF Superstars Of Wrestling/Season 1988" Now I've tried to modify these symlinks to achieve my goal by linking more directly to the season folder you can see this below. mklink /J "...Television/WWF Superstars Of Wrestling/Season 1988" "...WWF/WWF 1988/WWF Superstars Of Wrestling" Doing this gave me the same result, when I click on the show it still goes to the TV show details page and not the season page with an additional caveat that it now makes my library appear to have duplicate seasons. You can see this above in image 4 where "Season 3" is exactly the same as "Season 1988" even all the videos in both seasons link to the same exact filepaths. I'm pretty sure there is no work around for this, but I figured I'd try and see if anyone had a clever idea. Thanks for reading...stay cool. Edited January 25, 2023 by RIP314 corrections

Luke 42083 Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Hi, I can't think of a way to do this, but in the near future we plan to update the whole layout for TV and have episodes directly on the series screen, thereby eliminating the extra layer altogether. So you'll be able to flip seasons right from there without having to go back and forth. 1

Okay, but I'm not sure that would really solve my problem unless there will be a way to jump to the episodes for the specific Season otherwise I'm still going through the extra step of scrolling to that season's episodes which would probably be more annoying than just clicking the link for that season which I'm currently stuck doing now. If you get what I mean. Edited February 2, 2023 by RIP314 error
visproduction 316 Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 (edited) You can search directly into a season collection. The results are presented in a random order and apparently does not find all episodes. Voice command works nicely, if you have it turned on. So that is one click and Enter. That's pretty easy. You can then click on the S2:E2 first link and go right to the media page for that episode. Edited February 2, 2023 by visproduction 1

Thanks for the reply visproduction, but if you read my initial post, I'm not trying to search through my media, I'm trying to directly link from folder view to a specific season since my library is organized by year.
