Auto-create/refresh collection based on a genre or tag?

Just wondering if it’s possible to create a collection and have it automatically refresh itself if I add a movie that has a specific tag or genre?  Open to using a plug-in as well.

Nope, until/if SmartPlaylists and/or SmartCollections variation gets implemented, you can lend your support here:

At the same time Genre or Tag view will do that already. 

I honestly don't see this via Collections as that means writing the <set> field to all these items that already exist via their own genre/tag field.

I get what you're talking about - I'll play with it and see which I like better lol.  Once nice thing about a collection is that I can sort it so it appears at the beginning of the collection list (for example, around the holidays I might make it first in the list).  Collections also appear as a "main" category along with libraries (as opposed to drilling into Movies, then navigating to genres and scrolling to the specific genre).

Previously in Plex I had a separate library for holiday and that's an option as well.  But I also had the main Movies library pointing to the same holiday folder that my holiday library did, and I don't think you can do that in Emby (have the same folder in 2 different libraries)?  Probably end up with a lot of duplicates showing then in certain areas too...

And I'm probably way overthinking this but with my migration to Emby I'm reconsidering how I have my content setup...

this would be particularly useful now that collections can be displayed as a home screen section.  Genres/Tags only show you the matching items in the library that you navigated from.  For example if you wanted an HBO collection displayed as an item on the homescreen that automatically collects all items added to any of your libraries that are tagged with hbo.
